Vertiv™ VRC - a compact cooling system that changes the rules of the game for small IT spaces

Modern businesses are increasingly placing IT equipment in limited spaces - server rooms, network closets, edge locations. In such conditions, traditional cooling becomes ineffective or simply unavailable. That is why Vertiv has developed the VRC Self-Contained IT Rack Cooling System - an innovative, energy-efficient, and easy-to-implement solution that provides up to 3.5 kW of cooling without the need for external systems.

This system combines the functionality of a full-fledged air conditioner with a compact format - the unit is mounted directly into a standard 19-inch rack with a depth of 1200 mm, without taking up additional space in the room. It works with both open (perforated) and closed cabinets - with doors made of metal, glass, or plastic.

Fast installation, smart management, complete readiness for operation

The system is completely ready for installation - it does not need to be refilled as it is supplied from the factory already charged with refrigerant. The installation is as simple as possible: it is enough to connect the power (230V-1ph-50Hz) and the flexible air duct, included in the kit, to the ceiling plenum or another channel for exhausting hot air. In large-sized premises (such as production workshops), heat can be exhausted directly into the room.

The Vertiv VRC is equipped with a variable-speed compressor and fans, which allows the unit to adapt to the thermal load in real-time. This significantly increases energy efficiency and reduces noise levels. A condensate removal pump is included in the delivery set.

Special attention is paid to monitoring: in addition to the display on the unit itself, the system supports the installation of an SNMP card for monitoring over the network or connection to a BMS via Modbus RTU. In case of temperature or other parameter excursions, users can receive notifications by email or SMS.

A complete solution for edge infrastructure

The Vertiv VRC is also available as part of a complete solution based on the Vertiv VR Rack - with an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), rack power distribution units (rPDU), and a KVM switch. Such a kit allows you to assemble an effective, compact, and manageable IT hub - without complex design work.
