The history of the first precision air conditioner and its role in modern technology

The modern world depends on the uninterrupted operation of server centers, telecommunications equipment, and manufacturing processes that require strict climate control. In 1965, Liebert Corporation created the world's first precision air conditioner, a system capable of maintaining precise temperature and humidity parameters in critical environments.

In the mid-20th century, information technology began to develop at a rapid pace. Computers were becoming more and more powerful, and at the same time, their sensitivity to changes in temperature and humidity was increasing. Traditional household air conditioners could not provide the required accuracy of climate control because their control system had significant deviations. This caused the equipment to overheat frequently, leading to unstable operation and potential failures.
Recognizing this problem, Liebert Corporation seized the opportunity to develop a fundamentally new type of cooling system. The first precision air conditioner they created had the following unique characteristics:
- Maintaining a constant temperature with minimal deviations
- Control of the humidity level in the room
- Possibility of twenty-four-hour continuous operation
- Stability and reliability in critical environments
This development has become a real breakthrough in the field of climate control for server rooms, telecommunications equipment, medical laboratories and other important facilities.
The success of the first precision air conditioner contributed to the rapid development of this industry. Over time, such systems have become an integral part of data centers, medical facilities, industrial facilities, and other critical infrastructures.
In 1987, Emerson Electric Co. acquired Liebert, making it a key division of its Infrastructure Management business. Later in 2016, Emerson spun off this business into a separate company called Vertiv, which continued to develop Liebert solutions and became one of the largest providers of infrastructure technologies for data centers and telecommunications networks.
Today, cooling technologies continue to evolve, and companies that provide reliable climate solutions are becoming key players in the market. Alpha Grissin Infotech Ukraine is one of the leading companies supplying high-tech precision air conditioning systems to the Ukrainian market.
Alpha Grissin Infotech Ukraine provides design and service support for precision air conditioning systems. It has highly qualified personnel, which is confirmed by certificates of the manufacturer Vertiv.
In cooperation with Vertiv and other leading global manufacturers, Alpha Grissin Infotech Ukraine offers effective solutions for data centers, telecommunications and industrial enterprises, ensuring the stable operation of critical equipment. Thanks to its professional approach and modern technologies, the company helps partners and customers minimize the risks associated with inefficient cooling, which can lead to overheating, equipment failure, excessive energy consumption, and disruptions.
“Precision air conditioning is not just a trend, but a necessity for the stable operation of critical infrastructures, and companies that rely on high-quality climate solutions have every chance of success in the future.”

AI load in data centers: new aspects of uninterruptible power supply system development

The introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms significantly changes the energy consumption profile in data centers. Unlike traditional computing processes, AI loads are characterized by high amplitude transients (instantaneous jumps in electrical current parameters): energy consumption can vary from 10% to 130% in milliseconds. Such impulse loads pose risks to the frequency stability and thermal state of power electronics.
